As Executive Director, Jack leads the organization’s policy and advocacy efforts working with federal, state and local stakeholders to advance the Alliance agenda. His unique background in the public and private sectors positions the Alliance to be a leader and innovator in regional economic development.
Jack Troast has over 30 years of experience shaping public policy, managing large-scale developments, and representing corporate real estate interests across a broad range of activities. These activities include site selection strategies, state and local incentives, and infrastructure development. Clients include Boston Scientific, Hologic, Adobe, Fresenius Medical Care, Perkin Elmer, St. Jude Medical, and VeriSign among others.
In addition to his private sector experience, Jack has served in appointed positions for four Governors in two different states-Massachusetts and New Jersey. He has considerable expertise in regional economic development policy having launched the Governor’s Regional Competitiveness Councils in Massachusetts. As Deputy Director for the Massachusetts Department of Business & Technology, Jack also coordinated the Governor’s Economic Development Strategy Council working closely with various secretariats, cabinet offices and quasi-public agencies on managing numerous economic development priorities. This effort included extensive interface with elected officials at the federal, state and local levels.
Jack is a graduate of the John F. Kennedy School of Government at Harvard University where he received a Master’s in Public Administration and was named a Littauer Fellow for academic excellence and leadership. He is also a graduate of of Bucknell University and completed the Diploma Program in Real Estate Appraisal & Finance at New York University.
